Manila Flood 2026
Several areas and major thoroughfares in the City of Manila are currently experiencing flooding due to heavy rains brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat).
While many streets are still passable, water levels fluctuate between ankle-deep, gutter-deep, and knee-deep depending on the exact location.
Current Manila Flood Status by Area (August 10, 2026)
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) have monitored the following conditions on major roads:
- Taft Avenue: Gutter-deep (around 8 to 10 inches) across major stretches, including parts near Quirino Station, Pedro Gil, Padre Faura, United Nations Station, and the NBI parking area. It remains passable to all types of vehicles but causes slow-moving traffic.
- Roxas Boulevard Service Road: Gutter-deep to above-gutter-deep flooding (8 to 9 inches), specifically near the US Embassy, Pedro Gil, T.M. Kalaw, and Arquiza Street. Passable to light vehicles.
- España Boulevard: Flooding has reached around 10 inches near Antipolo Street. It remains passable to light vehicles but motorists are advised to exercise caution.
- Abad Santos Avenue / Tayuman: Parts have experienced heavier, knee-deep accumulation, slowing down lighter vehicles.
- Finance Road & South Road: Gutter-deep flooding reported along the corner of Finance Road heading toward Taft Avenue and the National Museum.
Manila Weather Reminder
The state weather bureau PAGASA continues to issue heavy rainfall advisories as the monsoon flows dump heavy moisture across Metro Manila. If you need to travel through these zones, monitor live updates from the official Manila Public Information Office or the MMDA social media pages before heading out.
